What is Meowdoku?
Meowdoku is a free logic puzzle where you place cats on a colored grid. It borrows the careful deduction of Sudoku and the exact ruleset of the Queens puzzle, but swaps numbers for cats — so it stays friendly even if plain Sudoku feels intimidating.
Unlike Sudoku, you never write a single number. You simply place one cat in each row, each column, and each colored region, making sure no two cats sit next to each other. Every board is solvable by pure logic with one correct answer — no guessing, no math, just a few calm minutes of deduction.

The rules of Meowdoku
The whole game comes down to four rules — here is everything a board asks of you.

- 1.Start where you have the fewest choices — small regions, corners, and tight rows or columns. The more constrained a spot is, the more certain your move.
- 2.After placing a cat, mark an ✕ across its whole row, column, and region, plus the eight cells around it. Clearing those squares usually exposes the next forced move.
- 3.If a region, row, or column has only one open cell left, that cell must be a cat. Chains of these forced placements tend to unravel the entire board.

Meowdoku's pencil mode is built into the board: tap a cell once to leave an ✕ note (a draft mark that a cat can't go there), and tap again to place a cat. The ✕ is just a memory aid and never changes the solution.
