Common Level 103 Mistakes to Avoid
Mind the gap in rows 2–3
Nowhere on this board do two cats sit closer than in rows 2 and 3 (columns 6 and 4, a 2-column gap). Treat that pair as the level's checkpoint: if your grid ever puts them side by side or corner to corner, a placement earlier in the chain is off.
Leave the biggest region for last
The amber region is the roomiest (32 cells), so it tempts you into guessing. Resist it — fill the smaller regions first and the amber cat is squeezed into a single legal square on its own.
The indigo region is the anchor
This layout has no corner cat to lean on. Your anchor is the indigo region instead: 4 open cells means row 6, column 8 is effectively decided for you, and every other deduction should be built on top of it.

First move: the indigo region
The fastest opening is the indigo region at row 6, column 8 — the most constrained region, so its cat is locked before anything else moves.
Chain the forced moves
After each cat, cross out its whole row, column, and color region plus the eight squares around it. On this board that immediately thins the emerald and blue regions down to one option each — follow that chain instead of guessing.
Finish in the open region
The last cat lands at row 1, column 3 in the amber region. That's by design: the roomiest region absorbs whatever freedom the board has left, so it can't be pinned until everything else is settled. If you're reasoning hard about amber early, you're solving in the wrong order.
