Start where the board is tightest — the pink region (row 3, column 7) — and the eliminations chain through to the emerald region, one cat per row, column, and color region with no two ever touching. The no-touch pinch point
Rows 1 and 2 hold this board's pinch point: columns 1 and 3, only 2 apart. Most wrong answers on this level come from shaving that gap by one column — recount the clearance before you place either cat.
Save the emerald region for the end
With 15 open cells, the emerald region looks wide open early on. Don't place there by feel; once the other rows and columns are claimed it collapses to exactly one spot, no guess required.
Lock the corner first
Row 1, column 1 — the top-left corner — belongs to the amber region, and corner squares answer to the fewest neighbors on the board. Settle it early and verify it twice: every later deduction leans on this anchor.
