How to solve Meowdoku Level 53
Here is the full 10Γ10 solution to Level 53, solved region by region. Start where the board is tightest β the green region (row 5, column 1) β and the eliminations chain through to the emerald region, one cat per row, column, and color region with no two ever touching. Pure logic, no luck. (Your own Level 53 board may look different; the same method still works.)
- 1
green region β row 5, column 1
Start with the green region: every other square in it already shares a row or column with a cat placed elsewhere, so its cat lands on row 5, column 1.
- 2
indigo region β row 6, column 4
The indigo region resolves next β only row 6, column 4 avoids sharing a row or column with an already-placed cat.
- 3
red region β row 8, column 2
In the red region, row 8, column 2 is the last square that doesn't clash with another cat's line, so place the cat there.
- 4
pink region β row 3, column 8
That forces the pink region: its remaining squares all touch a placed cat or share its row or column, leaving row 3, column 8.
- 5
blue region β row 7, column 6
Next comes the blue region β every square but row 7, column 6 is ruled out by an existing cat's row, column, or corner.
- 6
amber region β row 10, column 5
The amber region resolves next β only row 10, column 5 avoids sharing a row or column with an already-placed cat.
- 7
violet region β row 4, column 10
In the violet region, row 4, column 10 is the last square that doesn't clash with another cat's line, so place the cat there.
- 8
orange region β row 9, column 9
That forces the orange region: its remaining squares all touch a placed cat or share its row or column, leaving row 9, column 9.
- 9
amber region β row 2, column 3
Next comes the amber region β every square but row 2, column 3 is ruled out by an existing cat's row, column, or corner.
- 10
emerald region β row 1, column 7
The emerald region resolves next β only row 1, column 7 avoids sharing a row or column with an already-placed cat.

Common Level 53 Mistakes to Avoid
Watch the closest pair
The tightest spot on this board is rows 3 and 4: their cats sit just 2 columns apart (columns 8 and 10). This is exactly where the "no two cats touch, even diagonally" rule is easiest to break β keep one square of clearance on every side.
Don't commit early in the emerald region
A 24-cell region reads like freedom, but the emerald block is actually the least informative place to start β nothing in it is forced yet. Let the cramped regions spend the rows and columns first; the emerald cat's square is whatever survives.
The green region is the anchor
This layout has no corner cat to lean on. Your anchor is the green region instead: 1 open cell means row 5, column 1 is effectively decided for you, and every other deduction should be built on top of it.
How to Solve Level 53 Faster
First move: the green region
On this layout the opening move is not a choice: with the fewest open squares on the board, the green region locks its cat at row 5, column 1 before you touch anything else. Make that placement first and the rest of the level unrolls from it.
Eliminate, then chain
After each cat, cross out its whole row, column, and color region plus the eight squares around it. On this board that immediately thins the indigo and red regions down to one option each β follow that chain instead of guessing.
Endgame: the emerald region
The last cat lands at row 1, column 7 in the emerald region. That's by design: the roomiest region absorbs whatever freedom the board has left, so it can't be pinned until everything else is settled. If you're reasoning hard about emerald early, you're solving in the wrong order.
