How to solve Meowdoku Level 55
Level 55 runs on a 9×9 grid. Because the amber region has only 3 open squares, its cat is forced first (row 2, column 1); each placement then clears rows, columns, and neighbors until the violet region is the last to settle. No guessing — every step below is a forced move. (The layout in your app may differ, but the technique is identical.)
- 1
amber region → row 2, column 1
Start with the amber region: every other square in it already shares a row or column with a cat placed elsewhere, so its cat lands on row 2, column 1.
- 2
indigo region → row 7, column 2
The indigo region resolves next — only row 7, column 2 avoids sharing a row or column with an already-placed cat.
- 3
red region → row 9, column 9
In the red region, row 9, column 9 is the last square that doesn't clash with another cat's line, so place the cat there.
- 4
emerald region → row 1, column 4
That forces the emerald region: its remaining squares all touch a placed cat or share its row or column, leaving row 1, column 4.
- 5
green region → row 8, column 7
Next comes the green region — every square but row 8, column 7 is ruled out by an existing cat's row, column, or corner.
- 6
blue region → row 4, column 3
The blue region resolves next — only row 4, column 3 avoids sharing a row or column with an already-placed cat.
- 7
pink region → row 3, column 6
In the pink region, row 3, column 6 is the last square that doesn't clash with another cat's line, so place the cat there.
- 8
orange region → row 5, column 8
That forces the orange region: its remaining squares all touch a placed cat or share its row or column, leaving row 5, column 8.
- 9
violet region → row 6, column 5
Next comes the violet region — every square but row 6, column 5 is ruled out by an existing cat's row, column, or corner.

Common Level 55 Mistakes to Avoid
Watch the closest pair
Cats in rows 8 and 9 land only 2 columns apart (columns 7 and 9), the narrowest gap on the board. Double-check the diagonal between them before you commit — a single column off here and the two cats would illegally touch.
Leave the biggest region for last
The violet region is the roomiest (17 cells), so it tempts you into guessing. Resist it — fill the smaller regions first and the violet cat is squeezed into a single legal square on its own.
Lock the corner first
The red region's cat is pinned to the bottom-right corner (row 9, column 9). Corners have the fewest neighbors, so this is your safest opening anchor — misread it and the error spreads across the whole board.
How to Solve Level 55 Faster
Open where it's tightest
The fastest opening is the amber region at row 2, column 1 — the most constrained region, so its cat is locked before anything else moves.
Eliminate, then chain
After each cat, cross out its whole row, column, and color region plus the eight squares around it. On this board that immediately thins the indigo and red regions down to one option each — follow that chain instead of guessing.
Finish in the open region
Save the violet region for last (row 6, column 5). By then every other row and column is taken, so its cat has exactly one home left.
